What changed
Apple is releasing a redesigned Siri that uses Google’s Gemini AI models, with some processing done on the device and some through Apple’s private cloud system. Early testers say it handles multi-step requests and understands what is on the screen better, but it can still give incorrect answers and struggles with personal information. The updated assistant is not available in the European Union for now.
What this means for you
Users outside the EU can try a more capable Siri for tasks involving several steps or on-screen content, but should still check its answers and not expect it to know all personal context. People in the EU must continue using the existing assistant until Apple makes the upgrade available there.
