Anthropic's Claude Code limit change is a raise on paper but a cut in practice

What changed
Anthropic says a temporary 50% boost to Claude Code’s weekly usage limits will end on September 14. It will be replaced by a permanent 25% increase, which amounts to a 17% reduction from the current temporary limit.
What this means for you
Claude Code users will have fewer weekly uses after September 14 than they do now, although their limit will remain above the previous baseline. Anthropic says the change will bring more control and transparency over usage.
