The eVTOL Research and Innovation Centre at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is looking for a Research Engineer I in the area of Stress Engineering.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural analysis and assess the strength and durability of aircraft components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) methods to model and simulate structural behaviour under various loading conditions.Collaborate with the aircraft design team to provide input on structural considerations during the design phase.Develop, validate, and execute FEM models to analyse stress, strain, and deformation of aircraft structures.Perform static and dynamic analysis using FEM tools and methodologies.Investigate and identify the root causes of structural failures or anomalies, providing recommendations for corrective actions.Plan and conduct critical stress testing including the material equivalency test, sub-component test and proof load test, etc.Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement design improvements based on analysis findings.Ensure that all structural designs and analyses comply with relevant aviation regulations and industry standards.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.Proven experience as a Stress Engineer in the aerospace industry or automobile industry.Strong proficiency in Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools and software.Experience in CAD Modelling.Familiarity with carbon fibre materials and relevant industry regulations.Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Effective communication skills for collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.Fluent English skill is a must.
